Newcomer Events
The Newcomer Ministry of St. Luke’s holds a Welcome
Luncheon several times a year. Held at the Rectory (next
door to the church), newcomers are introduced to the
Rector and a variety of parishioners active in St. Luke’s
ministries. This is a great chance for us to get to know
you and vice versa!
Becoming a Member
St. Luke's of the Mountains welcomes all individuals and
families who have a desire to know Christ and walk in His
ways. The great majority of our parishioners are active
in one or more
ministries, a wonderful way
to get to know the St. Luke’s family.
For those interested in formal membership, St. Luke’s
offers a two-part Discovery Class to learn more about
living the Christian life, the history and teachings of
the Anglican Church, and about our parish’s past, present
and future. The Discovery Class is taught by the Rector
and is offered several times a year.
Upon completion of the Discovery Class, individuals are
offered the opportunity to become formal members of St.
Luke's of the Mountains. Those who decide to become
members are sponsored by a current member of St. Luke’s –
perhaps someone already known to you who introduced you
to our parish, or a sponsor matched to you by our Welcome
Team.
New members, accompanied by their sponsors, are presented
to the congregation for a blessing and welcome during an
11:00 a.m. Sunday worship service. A New Member reception
generally follows.
