Parish Life
The parishioners of St. Luke's of the Mountains are deeply involved in the daily and weekly activities of this busy church! Not only do our valued volunteers serve the Lord by taking part in the many roles and activities available, but they also enjoy the fellowship and friendship they find in these ministries. Acolytes: Young people who serve the Lord by assisting the priest at the altar. Contact: Andrew DeFusco.
Altar Guild: A sacred ministry that serves Christ through the care of the altar and its vestments, including vessels, candlesticks, and linens. Contacts: Sue Duquette and Dorothy Geronimi.
Building & Grounds: Upkeep and beautification of buildings and grounds of the parish. Contact: Frank Boyer.
Coffee Hour: A time of fellowship following each Sunday service. Volunteers are always welcome to help celebrate God's blessings by hosting and/or providing refreshments. Contact: Beth Webb.
Communications Ministry: Dedicated to promoting the activities and ministries of St. Luke's of the Mountains through press releases, website, flyers and other means. Contact: Jeanie Erickson.
Counters: Teams of two who count the weekly offerings and tithes, prepare the deposits, and take them to the bank. Contact: Jane Bender.
Finance Committee: Maintain and oversee the financial administration of our parish. Contact: Stephanie deVos.
His Helping Hands: Assist office staff with weekly and quarterly Chimes, bulletin boards, and various clerical duties. Contact: Ellen Brackett.
Lay Eucharist Ministers: Assist with Sunday services and the distribution of Holy Communion. Contact: Sammie Riddle.
Meals for New Moms: Prepares and delivers meals to families with newborns. Contact: Margie Coffin.
Media Ministry: Provides sound and videography at Sunday services; also records the 10:30 a.m. service sermon and makes tapes available to the congregation. Contact: Steve Cavander.
Music and Worship: Vocalists and instrumentalists who provide worship music that is welcoming to newcomers as well as meaningful and sustaining to regularly attending congregants. Contact: Harry Schultz.
Newcomer Ministry: A variety of functions and activities to welcome newcomers to the St. Luke’s church family, help them find a place of fellowship and appropriate ministry opportunities, and if so desired, guide them on the pathway to membership at St. Luke's of the Mountains. Pastoral Care: Provides support to parishioners in need (homebound, ill and elderly) through home visits, transportation and phone visits. Contacts: Jane Bender and Dave Hemstreet.
Stewardship: Promotes a lifestyle of generous Christian giving – year-round as an element of Christian discipleship with an annual emphasis to obtain pledge commitments to support St. Luke's of the Mountains activities and ministries. Contact: Stephanie Akens-Gunn.
Ushers/Greeters: Friendly people who welcome new and current worshippers to Sunday services, helping provide a comfortable environment for them to meet and worship God. Contacts: Wendy Kelly.
Wedding Guild: Provides assistance in planning the wedding event as well as support on The Big Day! Contact: Fran Mead.
